Official Workshop description
Hiya! Thanks for clicking on this mod.
This is a rework, addition and compilation of a few other mods: my SA342 Fictional UK Variants.
- Yes, I am British. Yes, this is a long description.
- No, I won't shorten it so you can skip the reading. Go exercise your mental faculties and read the bloody thing.
- And no, I don't drop every 't' in "bottle of water", you absolute weapon.
(That's banter. We take the piss out of each other in the UK because it's friendly. Odd, I know; welcome to Britain.)
CREDIT WHERE DUE:
This mod builds on "SA342 Gazelle – FRM" by FrenchReforgerMod, uses the "Rework" (bug fix) by Jackyyyyyyyyyyy, and requires WCS_Armaments by WCS.
Please go and thank all three. Mods take a ridiculous amount of time. Real life comes first, so don't berate mod-makers for not actioning your every last sodding request immediately.

Jackyyyyyyyyyyy, I don't have a Discord link for you. Add me (CHATTERBOX 9-8 on Steam, chatterbox_98 on Discord) and I'll add one.
Big up FRM, Jackyyyyyyyyyyy, WCS and Claude (yes, the AI). You absolute B A S E D legends.
FULL DISCLOSURE:
I suck at modding. I have ADHD and autism; firearms, military kit and flying helicopters tickle the 'tism in all the right ways. The intricacies of mod-making do not. So I have used Claude (Cowork) heavily to build this. It isn't perfect and there may be bugs. Apologies.
This is under an APL licence, so feel free to make patches. If you do, you must:
- Credit FRM, Jackyyyyyyyyyyy and WCS by name, with links to their mods,
- Not monetise anything WCS have produced, or anything built on their work (as per the WCS licence),
- And, if it's not too much to ask, credit me.
The other mod-makers did the majority, not me. (I'm just an autist with a HOCAS flight sim setup.)
I wanted a British light attack helicopter (the British only really used the Gazelle that way in the Falklands, with SNEB rocket pods), so I reskinned FRM's gorgeous work in fictional, British-inspired camouflage. Then something in me said "Oi, mate. Get this little airframe into more servers. Go on, do it. Shlaaaaag." So I found Jackyyyyyyyyyyy's fix, kept going, and full-sent it with Claude.
I intend to add versions in FRM's original French camouflage in the near future, as I think that's fair to FRM. 😊
FEATURES:
- Fictional British camouflage: Summer (olive drab) and Winter (olive drab / off-white), Royal Marines Commando tail boom markings
- Unarmed (pilot, co-pilot, 2 passengers), Transport (pilot + 4 passengers), Supply (pilot, co-pilot, 650 supplies)
- Realism: GIAT M621 20mm; 68mm SNEB (single or twin pods); GIAT + SNEB; GIAT + Mistral x2; Mistral x4; GIAT + TOW x2; TOW x2 / x4
- Non-Realism: Twin GIAT; AGM-114 Hellfire x4; GIAT + AGM-114 x2
- Crew-served: M134 Minigun (5000 rounds), STRIKE System
- GIAT ammo: AP-T, API-T, HE-T, HEI-T. SNEB rockets: HE, HEAT, Smoke, WP. Reload at a helipad.
- Mistral uses the WCS AIM-92 Stinger as a stand-in
- Co-pilot sight (Realism and AGM-114 variants): reticle showing range and bearing wherever you look, plus a roof camera with zoom and thermal. The co-pilot locks and fires the missiles.
- Mistral and AGM-114: IR lock-on. TOW: flies wherever the co-pilot looks.
- Camera: Right Mouse. Thermal: Ctrl + Right Mouse, or LT + D-pad Up.
- Rank and supply cost per variant; weight changes with fuel, ammo and crew.
And lastly, my own little spin on the whole matter…
His Majesty's Right Hand, "THE GUV'NOR".
An entirely unrealistic variant named after the late, great, hard-hitting, harder man, Lenny McLean. There's only ever one Guv'nor, and you're looking at it. (In helicopter form…) - Red and black DPM-style camouflage, x4 M621 GIAT autocannons. She spits a special type of hatred: SAPHEI-T, AP-T, API-T, HE-T and HEI-T hatred, at a combined 2800 rounds per minute (4 x 700).
THE GUV'NOR is single-pilot. You are sole controller of the helicopter.
Yeah, there's a co-pilot seat, but that's for them to watch and listen as you explain and demonstrate the meaning of the word "Nemesis", as defined by Brick Top (Snatch): http://youtube.com/shorts/KQYLY9XPFKU
So, you lazy bugger. Go and manifest that righteous retribution. You are the appropriate agent. The 'orrible… well, listen to Brick Top. He's far more eloquent than I could ever hope to be.
Much love. Cheers for reading this far; I hope you enjoy the mod.

Added a forward push in the speed limiter script. - It applies only when the nose is down and you're above about 54 km/h (15 m/s).
The push grows with speed and is full from 8° nose-down, so A shallower nose-down angle gives proportionally less.
With the nose level or up there is no push, so flares and slowing down behave as before.
The 310 km/h cap still applies, in level flight and in dives.
Acceleration from 200 km/h upwards will also be quicker.
Keys: the co-pilot's controls now take priority over the game's other in-vehicle controls (raised from 40 to 95/96). If something was taking the C key or the left mouse button, it no longer can.
Third person: WCS won't open its aim camera in third-person view. The co-pilot camera now opens in either view.
Weapons and flares: firing and flares could be switched off if the game treated the co-pilot as flying. That check now only applies in a pilot seat, so it can no longer block the co-pilot.
Action menu: in the co-pilot seat, look at the camera console and use the action menu to choose "Sight camera" or "Close sight camera". This works whatever the key bindings are. The F press you use to select it won't close the camera straight away.
Seat hint: when you get into the co-pilot / gunner seat, a hint lists the keys:
C: camera
LMB: fire (only shown on variants where the co-pilot has weapons)
L Shift + F: flares
Ctrl + C: thermal
Ctrl + N: night vision
F: close the cameraconfig.json entry
