Official Workshop description

Personal Lighting Lab is an experimental, player-local tool for tuning HDR tonemapping and eye adaptation in Arma Reforger. Open the pause menu and choose Personal lighting. The addon is disabled on first launch; enable it to experiment. Each player keeps separate local settings. No weather, sunlight, time-of-day or server-wide lighting settings are changed. Controls include exposure target and adaptation speeds, highlight/shadow sampling, two filmic curves, contrast, bloom, vignette and chromatic aberration. Sliders apply live without rebuilding the HDR effect. Exact numeric entry can go beyond the slider convenience ranges. Save, Revert, per-parameter Reset, Reset all, Compare and JSON import/export are available. Default means inherited. The displayed resource reference is NOT a verified live renderer default: explicitly setting that number can change the image. Reset restores inheritance; Reset all disables the override. Slider endpoints and numeric guardrails are editor policies, not verified engine limits. Shadow lift A/B/C are toe-only experiments, not guaranteed shadow-only corrections. Eye Relief and Coalition presets are numerical recipes, not dependencies or endorsements. Presets are experimental and can affect midtones and highlights. Each parameter has a Test command that records inherited, explicit-reference and inherited-again captures at fixed exposure, with PNG, JSON and camera/exposure CSV logs. Keep the camera stationary; movement cancels the test and restores your settings. Record exposure adds ongoing diagnostic CSV and settings snapshots. Files are saved in the active client profile's FPL folder, not on the dedicated server. Requires only the base game. Personal settings are not replicated. Multiplayer servers may still need to approve/include this addon. Main camera only; optics, PIP, night vision, respawn and other camera addons need compatibility testing. Another addon using camera effect slot 17 can conflict. Source and packed native checks: 144 passed, with PC and HEADLESS resource builds verified. A controlled fixture confirms that an explicit toe resource value differs from inheritance and that reset restores the starting image. This is not proof of improved real-game window or shadow lighting. Extreme combinations can produce poor images; use Reset or Compare to recover. The cover is illustrative generated artwork, not a gameplay screenshot. This release does not install or change any dedicated server.

Add an intermediate shadow-detail preset between the previous Balanced and Strong. Number the presets 1 through 4 from weakest to strongest. Existing pairs are unchanged; preset 3 uses linear angle 0.25 and toe denominator 0.1265. Manual exposure and recording remain preserved. Tests and validation builds skipped at the user's request; the new midpoint has not been visually measured.

Use Personal Lighting Lab on your server

Add Personal Lighting Lab to the game.mods array of your server config.json. The config generator builds the full file, the mod manager keeps the mod list and its dependencies organized, and the config validator checks an existing config. The adding mods guide and mod dependencies guide walk through it step by step.
