Official Workshop description

This mod adds AI helicopter flights. Transport and Strike flights fly multi-stop routes you define with map markers, ordered from the squad command wheel's Air Support entries; Patrol flights fly patrols of their own. A Transport flight is one AI-piloted transport, optionally escorted by a pair of AI gunships that hold formation on it, guard it at each stop (leaving their orbit to attack whoever shoots at it) and escort it home. A Strike flight is a gunship section that attacks the points you mark. Players ride as passengers and are inserted at the points you mark. 15 ready AI prefabs cover the vanilla UH-1H and Mi-8 variants: transport, armed, gunship and civilian. Quick setup 1. Place the flight dispatcher at your base (flights and crews, launch-ready), or spawn a single crewed helicopter with the included test-spawner prefab. A bare airframe won't fly — it needs an AI pilot. (Door gunners fill themselves; the pilot does not.) 2. Board if you want to ride along. Optional: L63H_ACM_Compat (with ACM Flight CORE) adds fast-roping. Without it, a rope point is flown as a landing. Build the route The marker label is the command: a package letter, then the number sets the order and the letters set the action. Labels aren't case-sensitive. - T marks are the Transport route (T1-WP, T2-LZ ...), S marks the Strike route (S1-WP, S2-CAS ...). Both can be drawn together. A label with no letter (1-WP) is flown by a flight that finds no marks of its own letter. - n-WP — waypoint (flight path) - n-LZ — landing zone: lands, unloads, departs on its hold timer or the "Go / Next Stop" command. Use open, flat ground — an unlandable spot is skipped. - n-RP — fast-rope point (needs L63H_ACM_Compat): hovers low and lowers its ropes. AI troops rope down by themselves; players take Rappel Down (Left/Right). It waits for everyone, including later waves. Over trees or water it ropes into the nearest clear spot within 60 m. Transport only. - n-HC — helocast: a low, slow run over water from this mark to the next; swimmers drop in. Transport only. - n-CAS — close air support: the gunships run in low, pop up and attack the marked area (rockets and door guns), then station over it. Strike only. - T0 / S0 / 0 (optional) — origin: an authored start/return point. Without it, the spawn point is home. Append -<metres> for a leg's altitude, e.g. T2-WP-90m. A CAS mark takes no altitude. A flight reads the marks drawn by the squad that tasked it; a private marker never reaches a dedicated server, so place route marks for your side. Fly it Open the squad command wheel: Air Support > Transport or Strike, or use the action inside the helicopter. - Transport: Launch Sortie, Go / Next Stop (send a stopped helicopter on), Fly To > Stop 1-8, Abort & RTB. - Strike: Launch Sortie, Re-Attack, Abort & RTB. The flight reports readiness by radio (Transport is Raccoon, Strike is Bushranger), spools up, launches in formation, flies the stops in order and returns home, where every airframe lands on its own pad. There it is repaired, re-armed, refuelled and re-crewed — order it again and it goes. The dispatcher sets the end of a sortie: stay on station, return and park, or return and despawn. A passenger who rides back to the origin is returned to their last spawn point. Patrols A Patrol flight flies random legs inside the Patrol circles set on the dispatcher, never through a Keep Out circle, 35-55 m up: one aircraft, or a lead and wingman. With Engage Hunt it makes rocket attacks on enemy vehicles and infantry its crew spots; Off uses the door guns only. Its speed is fixed or left to the pilot. It flies home when its time or rockets run out, or it is crippled. Players can't board it. Fuel: flights burn fuel at the vanilla rate. At Bingo % (default 20 %) the whole package flies home, refuels and resumes where it left off. AI door gunners pick targets by threat: a shooter endangering the aircraft outranks a parked vehicle. How it flies - Terrain masking: transport legs of 2 km or more are planned through the terrain that hides them and flown 15 m over the ground; LZ and rope-point approaches mask too, with a straight final. - Escort trail: on a masking leg the gunships fly nose-to-tail with the transport, ~105 m ahead and behind, and fan out again before a straight leg. - Strike runs fly low to the target with one late pop-up. - Built to read like a real helicopter: rotor spool-up, banking that follows the flight path, smooth climbs over crests, speed-carrying approaches, descent kept out of vortex ring state, and a brake-to-hover before every touchdown. Credits: Forked from AeroPilotAI by TheReaperCat. Map-marker parsing adapted from EE_Heli_Enhanced_Frame by Dekot3LT and EE_Helicopter AI Transport by EverElizaldeGaming (both APL). Fast-roping uses ACM Flight CORE's RIDE by Achilles Modding, through the optional L63H_ACM_Compat. With thanks to all four authors.

FIXED
- The pilot no longer judges a rope point (RP) at take-off. He flies to the mark and checks the ground 200 m out, as he already did for LZs. If a tree or water is under the mark, the "roping into the clearing" call now comes on the final approach, a few seconds before the hover, instead of right after the previous stop. With no clear spot within 60 m he says so there and lands instead.
- A 'Go' pressed in the few seconds between "coming into the hover" and "ropes are out" no longer skips the rope point and flies on with the squad still aboard. It is ignored, as a 'Go' pressed on the way in already was.
- A 'Go' pressed on the way in to an LZ now always means "land, drop, leave at once". Before, pressed more than 200 m out, it skipped the LZ.
- On a rooftop rope point, the rescue descent for a player stuck on the rope now stops above the roof, not a few metres above the ground under the building.
- The escort pair's break-off distance can be set back to its 400 m default in Workbench (its range was 0-120 m).

CHANGED
- The route coordinator's LZ judgment distance (default 200 m) now also sets where the pilot judges a rope point. Keep it above the final commit distance (150 m).

FOR SERVER ADMINS
- Only L63_HeliAI changes. L63H_ACM_Compat and missions need no update.
