Summary
Portable storage crates you can carry like an item, fill with gear and place anywhere.
Official Workshop description
Inventory Crates adds portable storage crates to the game.
Crates work like a medkit or any other item: pick them up, carry them in your inventory and drop them wherever you need them.
FEATURES
- Carry crates in your inventory and place them anywhere
- Each crate has its own storage with a weight and space limit
- Crates "should" never despawn
– your stash stays where you left it
- Crates cannot be stored inside other crates
- Available in the US arsenal for supplies (Conflict)
- Uses only vanilla models, no extra download size for assets
CRATE TYPES
- Ammunition Crate
- Weapon Crate
- Medical Crate
- Launcher Crate
- Explosives Crate
- Equipment Crate
NOTES FOR SERVER ADMINS
- Crates are excluded from garbage collection and stay for the whole session. On long-running servers, keep an eye on how many crates players leave around.
- This mod overrides the US item catalog (InventoryItems_EntityCatalog_US.conf). Other mods that change the same catalog may conflict.
Since this is my first mod, there might still be a few rough edges. Feedback, ideas and bug reports are very welcome – they help me improve it!

Version 1.1.0 – Logistics Update
IMPROVED: Sealing
- Weapons, grenades, mines, launchers and similar equipment can now be sealed
- Sealed items keep their state: ammo in magazines, attachments on weapons, item damage and the contents of backpacks are all restored when unsealing
- Partly used magazines and damaged items can now be sealed
- No duplicates: weapons come back exactly as they were sealed, without extra magazines
- Nothing gets lost: if an item can't go back to its exact place, it goes loose into the crate (or next to it if the crate is full)
- Items whose state can't be fully recorded stay in the crate as normal items instead of being sealed
NEW: Discard empty crates
- Interact with "Discard crate" to remove an empty crate in the field – no need to carry empty crates back to base
- Only possible when the crate is empty and not sealed
NEW: Ghost placement
- Dropping a crate from your inventory now shows a preview of the crate
- Confirm with the place key (same as for mines), cancel with R
- New action "Move crate" to reposition crates that are already on the ground
- Crates can now be stacked on top of each other to save space.
NEW: Game Master support
- Crates are visible to the Game Master with their own icon and can be selected, moved and picked up
- New GM context action "Inspect crate": shows the crate's location (on the ground, carried by a player, in a vehicle), whether it's sealed, and a list of its contents – including sealed items
KNOWN LIMITATIONS
- Sealed items don't count towards the crate's weight
- Sealed contents don't survive a server restart
- Sealing, unsealing and moving only work while the crate is on the ground
- Crates inside vehicle cargo can't be opened directly – take the crate out first
Feedback and bug reports are very welcome!
